Francesa & Dan’s three-day wedding celebration in Tuscany began at Ristorante Nuvolari, the restaurant of their wedding venue, Borgo di Pietrafitta Relais in Castellina in Chianti. As guests from the UK and the US gathered on the restaurant’s terrace, embracing and reconnecting, the team prepared a selection of exquisite Italian and regional dishes. The first evening of this destination wedding in Italy was filled with long-awaited reunions, heartfelt hugs, incredible food, fine Italian wine, and conversations that lingered into the night. As the rain set in, the guests moved indoors, where the intimate atmosphere only deepened, setting the perfect tone for the days ahead.
The second day continued with a pool party at the venue’s stunning infinity pool, offering breathtaking views over the valley. Initially bathed in the warmth of the September sun, the couple and their guests celebrated with an effortlessly chic daytime party, brought to life by a DJ and a saxophonist flown in from London. Some guests even braved the water, soaking in the Tuscan scenery while toasting to the celebrations ahead. Though the rain made another appearance, it did nothing to dampen the infectious joy, laughter, and deep sense of togetherness that defined the day.
Then came the wedding day. On the terraced lawn of Borgo di Pietrafitta, the planners created an elegant ceremony setup, perfectly framing the panoramic Tuscan landscape. Before the vows, guests enjoyed refreshments at an outdoor bar before taking their seats for an emotional ceremony—one that ended with the sun breaking through just as Francesa & Dan said, “I do.”
As the evening unfolded, guests gathered under the ancient stone archways for aperitifs, sipping cool drinks in the lingering warmth of the day. The celebrations continued with a beautifully set al fresco family dinner, where heartfelt speeches and shared laughter filled the air. But one of the most unforgettable moments was the sunset—just as we stepped into the garden for the couple’s portraits, the sky ignited in hues of gold and blush, as if painted just for them.
